Power Rankings (Week 3)

Power Rankings

1. Black Monkeys – (Last Week: 1) The Monkeys will hold the top spot in the Power Rankings with another relatively successful week. Black had a 3-2-1 record in Week 3 and currently still sit in first place in the league. Matt Ganci led the way again with 12 points in 4 games, and 2014 MVP Joe Szprygada had a solid week with 6 goals and 7 assists. Szprygada scored his 100th career point this week. With Pijacki having a solid week in net and Costas Skagias scoring, the Black Monkeys were able to finesse a few wins out of a tough week. If they can keep their star players happy, the Monkeys could run away with things.

2. Blue Swamp Donkeys (Last Week: 3) The Swamp Donkeys hopped up a spot in the standings and in our Power Rankings. The team went 3-3 for the second consecutive week. Blue put up more goals this week than the previous, but also gave up 22 in the 6 games. Their big win came against the Red Rogues, where they put up 8 goals in a huge win. Miles Meiler had a hat-trick in the game. They also lost the first game of the week, 6-1 to the White Whalers. Shane Mueller led the charge in week 3, picking up 4 goals and 9 assists. Blue now has 19 points and remains 3 points up on the fourth place White Whalers.

3. Red Rogue Agents – (Last Week: 2) The Rogue Agents slipped their way out of the second spot this week behind the absence of Jeff Stack. Nick Torgalski led the way with 8 points in 3 games for the Rogues. Red gave up 24 goals this week, the most in the league. 16 of those goals came in the 3 games Brandon Reynolds was in net, proving the value of Jeff Stack. With a 1-4-1 record in Week 3, the Rogues are hanging on to the 3rd playoff spot by 2 points. Garrett Bullinski scored his 100th career point this week for the Rogues.

4. White Whalers – (Last Week: 4) The White Whalers had a huge turnaround week. Scoring a league high 28 goals and giving up a league low in goals against with 16; the Whalers everything working. They are currently 2 points out of a playoff spot after a 5-0-1 week. The Whalers were led by Mike Musialowski in net, who posted a league low 2.25 GAA for the week. The Whalers offense was also on full display, with 3 players scoring over 15 points. Matt Bradley had 10 goals this week while Scott Parker assisted on 12. Steve Garbutt locked down on defense and if his strong play continues- the Whalers could be moving up the standings shortly.
