Power Rankings (Week 1)

Power Rankings

1. Black Monkeys – With 2014 MVP Joe Szprygada and BHL Rookie Matt Ganci leading the way, the Monkeys took 11 of 12 points in Week 1. Drew Pijacki leads all goalies with a 2.17 GAA and 5 wins. Monkeys are easily the top team of Week 1, but will they have what it takes to keep the top spot? BHL analysts think so. This team has solid goaltending and can score in waves.

2. Blue Swamp Donkeys – 2014 BHL Vezina Winner Dan Morgan played a solid week in net and the Swamp Donkeys went 3-2-1 in Week 1. Ryan Schamber currently leads the league in scoring and Shane Mueller leads the league in assists. With several other solid role players, the Swamp Donkeys could be a big threat in the postseason.

3. Red Rogue Agents – The Rogue Agents could easily be the number 2 team this week, but analysts believe this team could fall off. With Jeff Stack playing in net the majority of the week, the team could lose some ground based on his attendance. Nick Torgalski had a good week and currently leads the league in +/-. This team is the most interesting currently, since nobody is quite sure about which Rogues team will show up week-to-week.

4. Purple Pineapples – I think it goes without saying that 1-4-1 is not the start the Pineapples wanted. They gave up the most goals of any team and didn’t put up outstanding numbers. This team will surely need to turn it around to avoid relegation.
